The Room with no View

Setting: Our tiny one room hotel room.

Time of Day: Early Evening.

Scene: Bed time for the baby.

Mr. Cranky Pants (MCP for short) delayed his bedtime for over an hour trying to trick his Mommy and Daddy with Crocodile Tears that flooded the Sahara and wailing that could be heard in the hotel dining room. Mommy and Daddy grew a collective "Parent Brain" and outsmarted the baby. How you may ask? We shut off all the lights in our tiny room so the baby thought we were going to bed (at 9 PM).

BUT!

Our heroes remembered to grab their digital camera with X-Ray, uh, I mean night vision (!) built in!

Only they forgot one thing. They can only see if the baby is sleeping if the baby is facing in their direction. *sigh*

So Daddy Hero walked across the mine field that is our room with camera in hand and all lights off (didn't stub a single hero-toe) to gaze through the hazy green goodness of night vision to see ..

... that the baby was staring up at him.

LOL

So he crept silently back into bed, forgetting to use night vision on his way back and stubbing his pinky toe (OUCH!) on the way.

We stayed in bed, in the dark for another five minutes, and next time we looked through the camera lens? Baby was facing us (YAY) and he was sleeping!!!!

Tomorrow we transfer to a new room ... a suite.

I'm sure I'll have all sorts of delicious (toe stubbing) bedtime stories! :)

Cute! I can just picture it since I was in the same hotel (at least I think so VMI?)

Night vision camera? You guys are practicing some high tech parenting! I love it.
